About The Rivers
Situated within a stones throw to the River Aire, The Rivers is a purpose built home close to local shops and amenities providing an idyllic location to relax and enjoy the waterside.
Our newly acquired home has had a much needed refurbishment in 2022 and is ready to open in the coming months.
The newly refurbished purpose-built care home provides 50 spacious en-suite bedrooms, allowing for the highest level of comfort for you or your loved one. Residents are encouraged to bring belongings from home to add their personal touch to the beautifully furnished rooms.
The Rivers provides a flexible range of care services including residential, dementia, palliative and respite with the understanding that the needs of your loved one might change over their time with us.
The team at The Rivers offer a personal approach to care, with every member of staff having a vital role to play in the home. Each resident’s needs are carefully considered providing a warm and friendly environment for residents to enjoy fulfilled lives as a part of the community.

The Rivers Care Home Manager
Welcome to The Rivers Care Home!
My name is Julie Whitaker and I am the Care Home Manager.
I joined Amicura and the team at The Rivers in February 2022. I bring a wealth of experience spanning almost 40 years within the health and social care sector, the last 10 years within management.
I hold my level 5 diploma in leadership and management.
I am very proud to be the home manager and my vision for The Rivers is to ensure I lead my team so they are able to deliver the care and support my residents require in a way that they gain the most benefit in a warm and welcoming home.
Out of work I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog Fred. I am a season ticket holder at the local rugby league club Castleford Tigers
My staff team and I look forward to welcoming you to The Rivers.

We are situated off the M62, following the A162 towards Knottingley, turning left onto Pontefract Road. After Morrison’s, turn left onto Chapel Street, and we are situated on The Croft, where the home is sign posted “The Rivers”
By Public Transport:
We are a 10 minute walk from Knottingley station. The bus 149 also has a stop just outside the home.
