The atmosphere at Carnbroe Care Centre in Coatbridge was simply magical as we welcomed the “West Of Scotland Music Therapy” for an afternoon of music and connections.

Music therapy is a key part of our lifestyle in our care homes. It is a powerful way to support residents’ emotional well-being, reduce anxiety and encourage social interaction, particularly for those living with dementia.

As familiar songs filled the room, residents tapped along to their favourite rhythms, sang the old classics and shared joyful moments. These sessions often unlock treasured memories and help residents feel calm, connected and engaged with the world around them.

Activities like music therapy are a key part of our person-centred approach to dementia and residential care, ensuring every resident can enjoy meaningful experiences that support both emotional and cognitive wellbeing.
