Charlotte Celebrates Edinburgh’s Iconic Reopening

What a historic day for Liberton Brae Care Home Edinburgh – and an extra special morning for our very own resident, Charlotte.

Saturday, 1 August 2026, marked the official reopening of the beloved King’s Theatre following a major four-year, £41 million redevelopment project covered by the BBC. The extensive transformation has preserved the venue’s historic charm while modernising the space with upgraded technical facilities, enhanced accessibility, level street-to-stage access, lifts, and a welcoming new café for the local community.

And who better to help raise the curtain than our incredible Charlotte, who attended as a guest of honour.

A Morning Fit for a VIP

Charlotte enjoyed an unforgettable VIP morning soaking up the vibrant atmosphere, taking in the beautifully restored auditorium, and getting an exclusive first look at the state-of-the-art facilities before performances resume.

The King’s Theatre has held a cherished place in the hearts of Edinburgh residents for generations, making it an absolute privilege for Charlotte to represent our care home at such a milestone moment for the city’s arts and cultural scene.

Enriching Lives Through Meaningful Experiences

At our care home, we believe that staying connected to local heritage and enjoying vibrant cultural outings is vital to living well. Experiences like Charlotte’s VIP morning at the King’s Theatre reflect our commitment to supporting our residents to pursue their interests and remain an active part of the community.

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the organisers and team at Capital Theatres for giving Charlotte such a wonderful welcome on this monumental day.
